With the Holy Week upon us.. we decided on a spur of the moment to go to Tagaytay and spend it there… Our Aunt has an old house that no one stays in, so we asked if we could stay there for a couple of days… If you are a regular visitor in Sta. Rosa – Tagyatay – Silang, you would know that those places get choked up by traffic everytime there is a long holiday and even on plain weekends when there is an occasion.
As Catholics, part of the traditions we have grown up on is doing the .. where you need to visit 14 or 7 churches and praying the 14 stations of the cross…If you are in Tagaytay during that time.. going to the usual churches there will mean extreme sacrifice.. especially for the driver. Lol..
So we decided to take a different tack and go thru Pook to Ulat to Silang Proper then going up to Tagaytay.
1st stop…
San Antonio de Padua Church..The church is huge and newly renovated and has quick a lot of available parking space. San Antonio de Paduais one the oldest church in Silang Cavite.. It is historically built in the center of Silang proper. If you are passing thru the Tagaytay Silang road.. turn right at the 1st right after the last gasoline station after PNPA whch is the Caltex station…the road going to Silang Cavite.. the church will be on your left side..
Here’s the map link:
Next Stop is the Simbahan ng Silang
The church was put up last February 3, 1595.. and is right smack dab in the middle of Silang, Cavite. The church has limited parking slots, but no worries.. its located right beside the Municipal Hall, and there is ample parking around it.
3rd stop is one of the newest churches in Silang.
The Divine Mercy Church.. can be found at the end of the road..
Divine Mercy Church, located in Biluso, Silang Cavite
Here is the regular mass schedule for Divine Mercy.. the compound is quite large and has a lot of space for expansion.. according to the local parish priest that we talked to… they have plans of constructing a retirement home for priests from the local community.
Next stop was supposed to be the church beside the Rogationist College but unfortunately it was damaged in a storm and they were close… so the 4th stop was the Chapel inside the college grounds.
After Rogationist College, our next stop was the SVD..
After that – the last 2 was just right around the corner….once you go out of the SVD gate… turn left – going to Tagaytay you will see another church on the right side..
I forgot to get the name of this church – I think its St. Patrick or St. Peter.. After this church look for the
Order of Friars Minor Conventual – St. Joseph.. Now you’re done with the 7 churches…If you are one of the hardcore – 14 churches goer… there is another one neat St. Joseph… that will make it 8.. Go to the Pink Sisters… and the convent beside it.. That will make 10….Go up to Tagaytay via the road from cavite and you will come out of the rotonda and the side of Olivarez Plaza.. take a right at the rotonda and past the new Ayala Mall there is a 2 churches there.. Our Lady of Lourdes has the new Church and the old Church.. that will make 12…turn left when you exit the church going back down… past the rotonda go to the road leading to peoples park… about 300 meters from the rotonda will be a church on the right.. that will make 13… the last one is the church – (Our Lady of Manaoag – I think.) before Peoples Park and that makes 14…
